52 WEEKS ARTISTS DROP is an independent and pioneering proposal in digital art organized by NftCanarias where a group of 26 Spanish and Latin American avant-garde artists linked to cryptoart will release 52 works (one weekly) during the 52 weeks of the year 2024. Our goal is to encourage collaboration between artists, support artists who are joining the cryptoart scene and build a network of collectors linked to the project.

Collecting has become a key element of the digital art discourse in blockchain. Without collecting there is no cryptoart. There is certification but no diffusion, no projection of its artists in the digital space.
The open edition is an innovative way of presenting a work on the digital stage. An open edition, unlike a closed edition, is an edition subject to time. The work is subject to the desire to be collected for the time determined by the artist. It is an invocation to the present, a claim to instant love. It demands determination. It is a proposal of risk, a launch into the void. I am here for you, here and now. You can collect me or not, tomorrow you won’t have this chance to kiss me. It is now or never. It’s now.
THE COLLECTION
The collection will consist of a set of 52+1 pieces created by a group of 27 avant-garde artists in the world of crypto-art. The crypto-artist Javier Arrés will participate in the project as a promoter and as an author with an exclusive piece for the collection.
By collecting these 52 pieces in NFT format (non-repeatable tokens), you will be boosting the career of the participating artists, you will obtain a “digitally certified” copy of the authenticity of the author and you will have access to works by artists with an incredible revaluation potential.
The starting price of each artwork in the collection will be 1 TEZO (1 euro) for each artwork. The entire collection is composed of 52 copies of work that can be purchased for 52 TEZOS in total (about 50 euros approximately).
BENEFITS
Getting a piece from the entire collection brings benefits.
The first benefit is access to the purchase (or gift) of a piece by artist Javier Arrés that will add the 53rd piece to the collection. Only by owning the previous 52 pieces will you be eligible for this piece.
The second benefit for those collectors who have collected the 52 pieces will be to have exclusive access to the acquisition of 1/1 works by some of the artists in the collection. Phase two of the project.
Thirdly, outstanding collectors will receive a catalog with all the pieces in the collection free of charge.

Crujera (Sevilla) ha hecho pintura, escultura, teatro, performance, grabado… Tinta, óleo, temple, pastel… Lienzo, barro, bronce, cartón, papel… Son solo palabras, que se quedan sin alma por intentar describir cómo hace Alfonso Crujera para mostrarnos esas imágenes que emergen de sus “mundos paralelos”. Muchos, a la vista de la variedad de técnicas y soportes que ha venido desarrollando en su larga trayectoria artística. Una investigación, sin límites, que en los últimos tiempos le ha llevado a sumergirse en un nuevo mundo para crear imágenes virtuales, acuáticas, quizás, como los círculos concéntricos que hacían nuestros dedos al jugar en cualquier charco.

MARLÓ LÓPEZ

Self-taught artist of what he personally calls Sensorial Abstractism. The senses and way of observing the world make his works come to life tinged with color and cryptic messages. It is really the interested viewer who will discover their true meaning. He identifies himself totally with Informalism (Klee, Kandinsky, Yayoi Kusama, Hilma Af Klint…).

CÉSAR ÁLVAREZ
ARTISTS
César Álvarez’s art style called Spirit Mystic 6.8, is an original fusion of acrylic art and abstract drawings made with pen on canvas, combined with digitized images and creations generated by artificial intelligence. Inspired by astral travel, this style seeks to capture the essence of spiritual and mystical experiences through the composition of surreal and symbolic elements.
The resulting images reflect a world that goes beyond tangible reality, inviting the viewer to explore mental and emotional landscapes through an innovative and evocative artistic prism.
ERNESTO ASCH
ARTISTS
A graphic designer trained in Costa Rica and the United States, his work is characterized by a strong and forceful expressionist vision of the human figure, imbued in abstract contexts of great chromatic power. His visual language finds in the dissociated elements of the face, especially the eye and the mouth, the object from which he projects emotional states ranging from tranquility to disturbance, using a fragmented aesthetic to communicate. He has had solo and group exhibitions in Panama and Costa Rica, and in the metaverse he is one of the most prominent NFT artists in the region.

Charlie Five (Spain) dreamed since he was a child to become a creator of mazes, pyramids and video games. He is currently a curator, digital artist and crypto-artist who brings value to other digital artists on the blockchain. He is the current promoter of 52WEEKS and co-creator of NFTCanarias.
